December 29, 2008 Media Release Cincinnati NAACP The Cincinnati NAACP extends its condolences to the Reece Family for their loss of Barbara Reece. Dr. Steve Reece was a wonderful husband and friend to Barbara Reece. The Reece Family are members of New Friendship Baptist Church. The community was very aware that Barbara Reece had been fighting several health issues. However, she always had a positive attitude and a smile even as she fought her own personal battle. The Reece Family hosted the community on election night at Integrity Hall when Senator Barack Obama became President-Elect and it was evident that Barbara Reece was very proud of Obama's accomplishment. The Cincinnati NAACP will keep Barbara Reece's family in prayer. Dr. Steve Reece, Barbara Reece and family members are all long time members of the Cincinnati NAACP. The branch appreciates the support the Reece Family extended to the 99th Annual NAACP Convention in Cincinnati, Ohio. The convention would not have been as successful without their contributions to the event. The Reece Family has given so much to the community and it is our turn to stand with them in their time of need. President Smitherman says, " On behalf of the Cincinnati Executive Committee and Membership I extend condolences to the Reece Family during their time of need. This is a tremendous loss to the community. "
