January 21, 2009 Cincinnati NAACP Media Release The Cincinnati NAACP will have their official swearing in of the Cincinnati NAACP Executive Committee Members and Officers. The Cincinnati NAACP was founded in 1915. The Cincinnati NAACP is honored to have the distinguished Judge John Andrew West swear in the Executive Committee Officers for the 2009/2010 term. Judge West has served on the Common Pleas Court since 2001. He is viewed most importantly as a fair judge and we are honored that he has accepted the branches invitiation to participate in the swearing in ceremony. Smitherman says, " Judge West is an icon in our community and a man of great integrity. " The Cincinnati NAACP General Membership meeting will be held at South Avondale Elementary School (note different location) which is across the street from the Urban League on Reading Road. The general membership meeting will start at 6:00 pm followed by a 6:20 pm swearing in of the Cincinnati NAACP Executive Committee Members and Officers. This is a great opportunity for our community to get together and celebrate the swearing in of President Obama. The branch would love to hear your stories from Washington DC! "I look forward to working with all the members, officers, and executive committee members to move Cincinnati forward in a positive direction" Smitherman says.
