April 27, 2009 Cincinnati NAACP Media Release The Cincinnati NAACP would like to announce that the Cincinnati Branch is now the largest in the State of Ohio. The Executive Committee and Members have successfully done the work to drive the membership. The Executive Committee and President congratulates the membership on a job well done. "We have not reached our goal of 5,000 members but we will continue to strive toward this over the next 2 years" President Smitherman says. There is a direct relationship between the civil rights work that the Cincinnati NAACP has done over the last 2 years and the growth of the membership. All members of the Cincinnati NAACP should be very proud of this achievement. The Cincinnati NAACP continues to organize around driving membership and will not stop until our constituents achieve sustained fairness in Cincinnati in the areas of economics, education, politics, social, and legal justice. "It is nice to see our members wearing their NAACP t-shirts and hats proudly" Smitherman says.
