Cincinnati City Council will release a "political plan" to save jobs.  City Council continues to mismanage the city's money because their focus is reelection.  City Council must bring the city's expenses in line with current revenue.  The financial decisions of City Council should reflect the values of the citizens they govern.  H1N1 is real just like the bed bud epidemic.  City Council cut 100% of the bed bug inspection program in the middle of a health crisis.  As we move into the winter H1N1 will become more serious.  Health clinics need financial support as the country faces this potential epidemic.  The Cincinnati NAACP believes that all city workers are important.  "What is shocking is City Council and the Mayor continue to push a choo-choo train but can not solve a basic budget deficit" Smitherman says. The operation of the streetcar will devastate the city budget.  The Cincinnati NAACP remains frustrated that City Council would prioritize the operating of a streetcar over city jobs.

Listen closely to how City Council plans to save jobs.  "It sounds like they are deferring dealing with the financial crisis until they get on the other side of the election.  Over the next 60 days they will sell the community on the need for a streetcar with a $50 million deficit for 2010"  Smitherman says.
