"This is what suppression of votes looks like in America when privileged people are directed to follow the law," Smitherman said.  The Cincinnati NAACP will not tolerate the Board of Elections defying a Federal Judge's order under the disguise of a lack of interpretation.

CINCINNATI-OHIO DECEMBER 4, 2010 - The Sixth Circuit Court ruled this
week that the Hamilton County Board of Elections must follow Judge
Dlott's order to count 260 votes.  The Board of Elections met on
Friday at 1:00 PM and defied the order.  The Board agreed to meet in a
week to evaluate its options.  "A Federal Judge ruled that the Board
of Elections
can not certify the Hunter/Williams race without counting
the 260 votes.  I do not view Judge Dlott's order as vague.  However,
I do view the Board of Election's actions as unconstitutional and
disrespectful to Judge Dlott's court," Christopher Smitherman,
president of the Cincinnati NAACP said.
.
The Cincinnati NAACP has asked our co-chair of Legal Redress Attorney
Lisa Evans to contact the Attorney General and request immediate
intervention.  The Cincinnati NAACP will not tolerate the Board of
Elections
defying a Federal Judge's order under the disguise of a lack
of interpretation.  "This is what suppression of votes looks like in
America when privileged people are directed to follow the law,"
Smitherman said.
