CINCINNATI, OHIO - DECEMBER 29, 2010 - City Council will punt on
budget crisis to the City Manager. City Council will pass a temporary
budget for 2011 leaving all hard decisions to the City Manager. The
City Manager on January 2, 2011 will layoff 400 workers because City
Council refused to do their most important job which is to balance the
budget. City Council will blame the City Manager for the layoffs and
take no responsibility for mismanagement of tax payer money. "City
Council Members continue to illustrate weak leadership and financial
incompetence. The City Manager is not the problem. The problem is
City Hall leadership," Christopher Smitherman, president of the
Cincinnati NAACP said.
