Media Release

CINCINNATI, OHIO - JULY 27, 2011 - Sally Krisel, Director of Elections
and Democratic appointee informed the Cincinnati NAACP Executive
Committee Members that no pre-check for streetcar petitions will be
available until late next week. This will give our team less than 5
days to collect signatures to place the streetcar, trash fee, no
consolidation of police, and recall of any mayor on the November
ballot. "This is not democracy it is political blocking by the Mayor
and Cincinnati City Council. They have no desire to hear from the
citizens that they say they represent. The board can count 85,000
signatures for SB5 in 10 days but can not count 4,000 signatures in 1
month," Christopher Smitherman, president of the Cincinnati NAACP
said.
