CINCINNATI, OHIO - AUGUST 16, 2011 -  President Juanita Adams of the
Cincinnati NAACP calls for a transparent investigation regarding the
tasing and death of UC student Everette Howard.  The Cincinnati NAACP
extends its condolences to the Howard family.  "There is nothing more
painful than burying a child.  This child was a good student and on
track to be successful," Adams, president of the Cincinnati NAACP
said.
.
UC leadership should hold a press conference explaining what happened
to the community.  The enrollment and retention of African Americans
at UC has not been the best.  "This kind of incident does not help
recruit African American parents and students to attend UC.  The
Cincinnati NAACP Membership will discuss this issue at its August
membership meeting," Adams said.
