The Cincinnati NAACP is sadden by the recent passing of entrepreneur Arthur Sherman, Jr.
CINCINNATI, OHIO - MARCH 18, 2012 - The Cincinnati NAACP is sadden by the recent passing of entrepreneur Arthur Sherman, Jr. He was the owner of Sherman's Flower Shop located in Walnut Hills until it closed in 2007. Arthur "Archie" Sherman passed on March 7, 2012. He was a pioneer by having the oldest black owned flower shop in the country. "Archie Sherman was always supportive of the Cincinnati NAACP by providing flowers to our annual freedom fund dinner in kind. He will be greatly missed, Juanita Adams, first-vice president of the Cincinnati Branch said. Christopher Smitherman, president of the Cincinnati Branch added "Our prayers and thoughts go out to the Sherman family and friends as they continue to mourn the lost of a great African American husband, father, friend, and business man in our community." |
