CINCINNATI, OHIO - NOVEMBER 21, 2010 - The Cincinnati NAACP expects
the City Manager to release budget recommendations to Mayor Mark
Mallory's Office to balance the 2011 $60 million deficit.  The City
Manager budget recommendations will include massive employee layoffs
across all city workers.  City Council will immediately begin their
public posturing on the reality of an economic crisis at city hall.
However, City Council has been so irresponsible it is impossible to
believe anything they say.  "This financial crisis could have been
avoided if City Council had spent more time over the last 6 years
managing overtime and not giving massive tax breaks to corporations.
This council has shown no restraint on spending money and it will now
cost 400 city workers their jobs," Christopher Smitherman, president
of the Cincinnati NAACP said.
