Cincinnati NAACP Media Release . CINCINNATI, OHIO - DECEMBER 21, 2010 - The Williams Camp filed an appeal in the Ohio Supreme Court to request a restraining order on the Hamilton County Board of Elections. The restraining order requests that the court stop the count of the 849 votes. The Williams campaign has the right to file the restraining order. "The Williams Camp has lost each attempt to stop the process of counting the 849 votes in question. I can not see the Ohio Supreme Court ruling in their favor," Christopher Smitherman, president of the Cincinnati NAACP said. . The Board of Elections has been directed by the Secretary of State to conclude the entire process by December 31, 2010. The Board will meet again on December 28, 2010 to vote on which ballots should be counted. "The Silverton Community had 16 provisional ballots cast. Silverton voters should call the Board of Election and ask if their provisional ballot was counted. I think the Board of Elections should be held in contempt of court by Judge Dlott," Smitherman says. . Anyone who voted with a provisional ballot in Silverton please contact the Cincinnati NAACP at (513) 281-1900. . . |
