CINCINNATI, OHIO - FEBRUARY 16, 2011 - The Cincinnati NAACP has
requested that Jim Clingman, Chair of Economic Development,
investigate a company called K4.  The Cincinnati NAACP remains
concerned that "pass-throughs" and "front" companies are used to meet
inclusion numbers. "This practice must stop.  I am not saying this
company is a front.  However, I am looking for explanations on work
performed in specific disciplines of construction," Christopher
Smitherman, president of the Cincinnati NAACP said.
.
African American companies can never grow and build capacity under the
current landscape in Hamilton County.  "Any party who engages in a
practice that stops African American companies from competing fairly
and growing is no friend of the Cincinnati NAACP," Smitherman says.
