Cincinnati NAACP Media Release . CINCINNATI, OHIO - MARCH 25, 2011 - Mayor Mallory, City Council, and the City Manager are still planning to build the streetcar. The Governor has cut off funding and the State Legislator has introduced legislation to defend the Cincinnati streetcar. City Hall is now announcing a scaled down version of the streetcar. "Six miles of track for $200 million is already scaled down," Christopher Smitherman, president of the Cincinnati NAACP said. . The Cincinnati NAACP encourages all citizens to sign the streetcar petition. "The fight is not over to stop the streetcar. City hall will put Cincinnati into bankruptcy to get this streetcar. The entire project lacks basic common sense," Smitherman said. |
